NIKE has embarked on a journey with its manufacturing partners to develop predictable, agile and risk resilient safety management systems driven by a mature culture of safety. NIKE had developed the Culture of Safety Maturity Assessment or CoSMA to provide a clear roadmap for its manufacturing partners to embark on as part of the culture of safety journey.
Fusion Safety had been appointed by NIKE as one of four 3rd party consultants to help engage with NIKE manufacturing partners for the CoSMA and related improvement projects. Fusion Safety’s CoSMA program was specifically designed for NIKE manufacturing partners to be ready and equipped for the CoSMA calibration.
/ Strategy
The strategy for the 3-phase approach is to conduct a quick analysis of the CoSMA to identify key areas that need improvement, then build the capability and necessary skills to prepare the workforce for CoSMA Level 3. The time frame for this strategy is approximately 6 to 9 months, with the lesser periods possible through more intense training and capability development.
PHASE 1 - DIAGNOSTICS:
Conducting a Gap Analysis on CoSMA Readiness.
PHASE 2 - STEP UP PROGRAM:
Implementing an action plan or roadmap, and upskilling of capabilities and competency building
PHASE 3 - COSMA ASSESSMENT:
Conducting a CoSMA assessment to provide real-time assessment of the current state of CoSMA readiness.
