We know that leaders are committed to achieving great safety outcomes for their organisation because they establish excellent safety systems and develop the necessary technical safety competencies.
But organisations still come to us because there’s a gap between where they are and where they want to be when it comes to safety performance and culture.
/ How do we create a culture?
We know that there are often many different safety cultures that already exist within an organisation. But we believe there are six characteristics that are integral to creating an exceptional safety culture for your entire workplace. We will work with you to assess the types of behaviours, routines, and habits that already exist in your workplace and organise them in a way that makes sense – mindfully.
How do we do it? Through the Mindful Organising for Safety Survey (MOSS).
We use the MOSS as a diagnostic tool to develop a clear picture of your organisation based on these six characteristics.
Preoccupation with Failure
Organisations pay incisive attention to small errors or weak signals in the workplace
Reluctance to Simplify
Organisations do not accept simple explanations. Instead, they examine them thoroughly.
Sensitivity to Operations
Organisations routinely focus on the work being done.
Commitment to Resilience
Organisations practice learning from errors, rather than having their errors disable their peformance.
Deference to Expertise
Organisations know that empowerment and authority are focused on expertise, not rank.
Governance Awareness and Alignment
Organisations implement the systems, structures, processes, and procedures to create a safe workplace.
